5 Ways To Unwind - Blogmas Day 14

Hey Babes!

Happy Monday and Happy Blogmas Day 14. Wow, two weeks of content? Shouldn’t I receive some sort of reward or trophy for my consistency? A Gucci bag, a puppy or even a casual $1000 in cash would suffice. I don’t ask for much.

Anyway, the holiday season can be very stressful, so today I am sharing my five favorite ways to unwind and recenter myself! I hope you babes find this post helpful and I hope you carve out some time to take care of yourself this week!

Cleaning

If you were to ask any college roommate of mine if I cleaned they’d laugh at you. But, since I’ve gotten older cleaning makes me feel calm. I enjoy having my space tidy and it does wonders to relieve stress. My tip is to toss in your AirPods, turn on your favorite podcast or Taylor Swift’s new album and zone out.

Taking A Walk

Whether it’s inside on the treadmill or outside at a local park or track, a simple walk will help you unwind. You don’t have to jog or work up a sweat, a leisurely speed does wonders for your brain. On Friday, I took a walk with a friend and I think it was great for both of us to breathe in fresh air while we strolled with our Starbucks. I also love to take my dog out for a walk, and it makes me so happy to see her excited.

Bake Some Treats

For me, baking is a very soothing stress reliever. I like to pop a Harry Potter DVD in my laptop, kick everyone out of my space and bake to my heart’s content. I get time to myself and my family receives fresh treats. A real win win.

Read A Book

Sometimes being on my phone or iPad can feel over stimulating, so turning off technology and reaching for a book helps me unwind. Whether you’re reading a new story or rereading an old favorite, just getting lost in a book is one of my favorite things to do.

Practice Yoga

While even seeing this activity on this list may make some of you roll your eyes, just hear me out. A very simple 15 minute guided yoga on YouTube will zen your ass out. If laying in corpse pose doesn’t unwind you, then I don’t know what will.

It doesn’t matter how you decide to unwind, all that matters is that you take even 10 minutes for yourself! Sometimes I just set an alarm or timer and just lay in my bed. Whatever works!

xoxo,

Kelly
