Loving You Was Red
Hey Babes!
I am not a beauty guru by any stretch of the imagination. I am great nay good, at doing my own makeup. Despite me being high-maintenance in almost every aspect of my life, I actually prefer a super subtle natural look to a false lash and daytime contour. So, when it pertains to my lip products, I normally stick with a clear gloss plumper and lip balm. Today, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and into the intimidating territory of the red lip. I selected three drugstore lip shades to try out and we’re gonna see what happens.
Let’s start with the lip that is the most out of my comfort zone, which is the megalast liquid catsuit matte lipstick from Wet n Wild in the shade Missy and Fierce. While the color is beautiful and the type of red that I reach for when I get a manicure, this shit was so freaking hard to remove and so messy to apply.
The next shade I tried, turned out to be more of a berry lip than a true Cheryl Blossom cherry red hue. This product is a day to night lipstick duo from e.l.f. in the shade The Best Berries. I actually really liked both lip colors in the duo and the price is pretty reasonable!
The last shade I put on, is one that I have been wearing pretty often and the type of lip product that I am most comfortable wearing. This product is a cushion lip tint from Revlon in the shade Crimson Feels.
Overall, I was surprised to find that I really liked the lipstick duo from e.l.f., but this test also confirmed that I am just not a bold lip type of girl. Pass me the tinted Burt’s Bees please.
xoxo,
Kelly
